Tip Top Orchards
Is a family owned and operated cherry orchard located in the Wenatchee Heights on Halverson Canyon. The partners Troy and Kim Toftness, Robert and Nancy Van Hoven and Jack and June Toftness are thrilled to introduce their wonderful new Skylar Rae® Tip Top Cultivar. The orchard was planted in 2002 and grows Skylar Rae® and Sweetheart cherries. While working in the orchard one rainy day, Jack looked up to the sky with tears in his eyes after the recent loss of his granddaughter Skylar Rae Toftness and asked for a sign to help him deal with this great loss. A rainbow fell down upon the section of the orchard where later they would discover the new cherry known today as the "Skylar Rae® Tip Top Cultivar".
During harvest, Skylar Rae's brother Brock Martin Toftness, frequents the tree only to ask for "More Please", of the very sweet and firm cherry while passing up the other varieties grown close by. This is quite common from any visitors who have been fortunate to have eaten a "Skylar Rae®" cherry.
Another new miracle blessed the Toftness family. They were gifted with a baby girl, Brylee Sky Toftness, born on the same day as her big sister Skylar Rae.
The Toftness/Van Hoven families are overjoyed with the namesake for their beloved Skylar Rae, it is definitely one of the most exciting parts of it all.
